Southern California band Alternate Sound of Life, known for their captivating live shows have been touring and performing around the Southwest for the past few years sharing the stage with bands such as Fair to Midland, Bad Acid Trip (both on System of a Down's Serj Tankian's record label Sergical Strike), The Apex Theory, Strata, Opus Dai, and Boy Hits Car. ASL has performed at many of the foremost clubs in Southern California including The Troubadour, The Viper Room, The Key Club, Hard Rock Cafe, House of Blues, The El Rey Theater and The Whisky.

Following the success of their first self-produced release, EP01, ASL decided to solicit help for the production of their debut full-length and attracted the attention of internationally renowned producer/mixer, Ronan Chris Murphy. Murphy has worked with some of the worlds' most elite musicians including: King Crimson, Tony Levin, Terry Bozzio, Ulver and Steve Stevens. Having worked on over a dozen albums with prog legends King Crimson as well as pop stars like Jamie Walters, Murphy was the perfect choice to blend ASL's more aggressive & intricate material with their commercial and melodic sensibilities.

Alternate Sound of Life and Ronan Chris Murphy teamed up for rehearsals and pre-production in the spring of ’07 before a rigorous five-week recording schedule. The album reached musical completion in early Fall with mixing by Murphy and mastering by Stephen Marsh. To accompany the 12-song musical journey, ASL teamed up with Nspired1 (Art Direction & Photography for Droid) to handle the visual elements of the album. After joining the band at rehearsals and in the studio, Eric Gonzalez (art direction) and Elva Alcala (photography) of NSpired1 ultimately created the visual elements that completed this album. With an aggressive touring/marketing campaign in the works, the band will take its next step in evolution with their debut release, She Whispers Loud (2008).
